National Education Day

National Education Day

National Education Day is a yearly observance in India to remember the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of free India, who served from 15 August 1947 until 2 February 1958. National Education Day of India is commended on 11 November consistently.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development declared on 11 September 2008, “The Ministry has chosen to celebrate the birthday of this incredible son of India by reviewing his commitment to the cause of education in India. November 11 consistently, from 2008 onwards, will be praised as the National Education Day, without pronouncing it a holiday.” All educational institutions in the nation mark the day with seminars, symposia, essay-composing, rhetoric competitions, workshops and rallies with flag cards and slogans on the significance of proficiency and the country’s duty to all aspects of education.

The day is also seen as an occasion to recollect Azad’s commitment to establishing the frameworks of the education system in an autonomous India and assessing and improving the nation’s present execution in the field.

We wish you a Happy National Education Day, keep the spirit of education alive through Effective Learning.
