LSRW method of Learning for effective communication
Communication has been the single most important factor for human evolution and human advancement in all areas and walks of life.
Essentially, communication has been the quintessential component in existence for a very long time; time immemorial.
It is through communication that we have been able to pass on the learning, information and knowledge from one person to the other and from one generation to the next.
The traditional, customary learning methods have been built around the Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills – the LSRW skills.
The LSRW method has been proven beyond doubt that it is an effective communication tool and will remain so for times to come.
Components of communication include effective and active listening to begin with followed by clear and concise articulation – be it spoken or written.
To be a good communicator, one needs to be well read and should possess the knowledge of various different subjects and topics. Also, it’s important to have a good vocabulary; command over the language; which again can be gained by following the LSRW method.
Communication includes the sender on one side and the receiver on the other with a lot in between; and it is this in-between component (will be covered in subsequent blogs) that decides the effectiveness & efficacy of the message and its intended purpose.
If one practices the LSRW method, it would help immensely to not only effectively communicate, but also essentially achieve the objectives of the communication purpose; be it official communication, personal communication, product communication or marketing communication.
